Lu Ann Schisler

November 4th, 1949 – May 10th, 2017

Lu Ann Schisler, age 67 of Astoria, IL, passed away at 2:45 am on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 at her sons home in Vermont. She was born on November 4, 1949 in Vermont, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Flora Margaret (Lawson) Bowman.

She is survived by her daughter Kelly Westlake of Astoria, son, Jeff (and Sheila Siltman) Schisler of Vermont, 6 grandchildren, Jason Westlake, Brad Westlake, Scott Schisler, Kevin Schisler, Katrina Schisler, and Tyler Schisler, 1 great-grandson, Colt Schisler, special friend, Arthur “Bud” Stambaugh of Browning and her 2 brothers, Robert (and Kathy) Bowman of Bushnell and Donald (and Charlotte) Bowman of Bone Gap.

Preceded by her parents, 4 sisters, Marjorie Stambaugh, Elma Mae Royer, Mary Taraboletti, and Ruby Hickle, 3 brothers, Gene Bowman, Max Bowman, and Bill Bowman, and 3 1/2 brothers, Lloyd Bowman, Floyd Bowman, and Boyd Bowman.

Lu Ann was a graduate of VIT High School. She worked at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville as a dietary aid for over 20 years.

She enjoyed going to yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 2 to 6 pm at the Vermont Christian Church in Vermont, IL. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.

I just now found out about this and was deeply saddened. LuAnn was the 1st person I hired at Snyders when I started there as Kitchen supervisor. She was a dedicated and loyal employee. My condolences to the family......Steven Britton
