Margaret A. "Butch" Selph

February 25th, 1938 – October 29th, 2017

Margaret A. "Butch" Selph, age 79 of Table Grove, IL, passed away at 1:42 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in the Emergency Room at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. She was born on February 25, 1938 in Brownsville, TN, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Wilkerson) Negley. She married Dale Selph on June 1, 1956 in Abingdon, IL. He survives.

Also surviving are her son, Danny Selph of Table Grove, five grandchildren, Haily (and Jed) Rhoades of Canton, IL, Karly (and Charlie) Hite of Vermont, IL, Brandon (and Rachel) Selph of Columbus, OH, Katlyn (and Bryce) Heller of Astoria, IL, and Jordon Selph of Table Grove, eight great-grandchildren, Gaven Hite, Lexie Hite, Will Rhoades, Eli Rhoades, Emberleigh Heller, Hunter Ford, Colt Ford, and Sonya Ford, two sisters, Marilyn Kinnamon of Peoria, IL and Marjorie Cox of Macomb, IL, and one brother Dick (and Mary) Clemens of Phoenix, AZ.

Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bobby Vaughn, her parents, her step-dad George Clemens, one great-granddaughter Amelia Ford, and one sister Martha Burns.

Margaret worked at the Table Grove Restaurant before going to McDonough District Hospital in Macomb where she was a Dietary Aide for 37 years.

She loved to shop and was a huge nature lover, especially animals, plants, and flowers.

Margaret had a special interest in British history, especially anything to do with Princess Diana or Queen Elizabeth.

Margaret loved her family deeply.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Cody Stinnett will officiate. Visitation will take place from 5-7 pm prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Table Grove Fire and Rescue Squad. Cremation rites will occur following the services with interment in the Harris Cemetery at a later date.
