Irma L. McCormick

August 11th, 1923 – April 28th, 2015

Irma L. McCormick, age 91 of Macomb, IL, formerly of Ipava, IL, passed away at 9:00 pm Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Wesley Village in Macomb. She was born on August 11, 1923in Bernadotte Township, Fulton County, IL, a daughter of William Henry and Loreine (McCaughey) Hamm.

Irma married Paul W. Ladd on August 28, 1946 in Ipava. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1987. She later married Marvin McCormick on March 19, 1994 in Ipava. He survives. Also surviving are her son, Rob Ladd of Fiatt, IL, her step-daughter Marsha McCormick of Macomb, her step-son Marlin (and Evelyn) McCormick of Monroe City, MO, one step-granddaughter Erica (and Nick) Grant of Davenport, Iowa, one step-great-granddaughter Meredith Grant, her sister Marjorie Deakin of Cuba, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents, one son Michael Dean Ladd, two sisters, Mildred France and Wilma Baughman, and four brothers, William, Robert, Russell, and Harold Hamm.

Irma was a farm wife. She was proud to serve her country during World War II by working at Camp Ellis in the automotive parts division as a stock record clerk. Irma also was an Amway Distributor.

She was a member of the Ipava United Presbyterian Church since 1959 serving as Deacon and Elder and helping serve many chicken pie suppers and funeral dinners. She was a member of the Ipava Order of the Eastern Star of Ipava since April 1942, serving as secretary for most of that time. She was also secretary of the Ipava High School Alumni Reunion Committee.

She loved to cook and bake pies, especially Grape and Green Tomato pies.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Ipava United Presbyterian Church. Pastor Bob Miner will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6-8 pm with Order of the Eastern Star services beginning at 8:00 pm. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospice program, the Ipava United Presbyterian Church, or the Ipava Order of the Eastern Star.
