Rose Lawrence

May 2nd, 1939 – June 30th, 2015

Rose Lawrence, age 76, of Macomb, IL, passed away at 2:00 am on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. She was born on May 2, 1939 in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of Reed and Nellie (Reed) Lisenbee. Rose married Bennie Lawrence on October 17, 1955 in Illinois. He survives.

Also surviving are her two daughters, Lydia (and Steve) Bonser of Rushville, IL and Lois (and Harold “Butch”) Pratt of Lewistown, IL, three sons, Randy (and Erma Louise) Lawrence of Bushnell, IL, Kevin (and Paula) Lawrence of Pekin, IL and Bennie R. Lawrence of Macomb, IL, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, four great-great Grandchildren, two brothers, Sam Lisenbee of Rushville, IL and Bill (and Bonnie) Lisenbee of Rushville, IL, and two sister, Betty (and Gene) Nash of Beardstown, IL and Barb Thurman of Coweta, OK.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Shouse, brother, Thomas Lisenbee and two Sisters, Nancy Hamm and Jeanie Gaston.

Rose worked at Astoria Fiber Steel for 8 years. She was a CNA at Snyder-Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville for 28 years. She loved her grandchildren and working with her flowers and garden. She also loved to fish and go camping. She also helped on the farm, raising livestock and raising her children. She was a very caring person. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb, IL.

Services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in the Summum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her grandchildren's education fund.
